Bill C. Dotson is a commercial real estate developer. He’s also a visionary with a unique view of how believers in business can live out their devotion for Christ in the workplace. Bill founded the Dallas Real Estate Ministries (DREM) in 1986 along with eleven other men, when the focus on “workplace” ministry was in its infancy. Since that time, DREM has been on a mission to “build a spiritual house,” in the real estate industry. DREM’s organization funds specific care ministries, helps younger Christian business people develop their discipleship and evangelism skills through their Ambassador program, and fosters a clear understanding of how a person can meld a wholesome Christian life with an active and enthusiastic business effort. We are particularly impressed by DREM’s monthly breakfast and luncheon (Encounters) meetings featuring testimonies of Christians in the Real Estate Industry; and Ambassador “After Hours” meetings that give the younger set to really get to know each other. Transport for Christ is a “mission organization dedicated to reaching, supporting and encouraging truck drivers.” In addition to active ministry in Russia, Zambia, TFC has 33 Chapels at truck stop locations throughout North America. Three new chapels are currently in development: Beaverdam (OH), Indianapolis (IN) and Racine (WI). TFC Chaplains regularly visits drivers at terminals as well. TFC publishes a printed monthly magazine, Highway News and Good News, which is distributed across North America as well as in Africa and Australia. The magazine is also in PDF format on their website, along with a free Bible study series. They have a toll free 24/7 Trucker Prayer line: (877) 797-PRAY (7729) and a Christian blog called Daily Encouragement which is available for free subscription. TFC is developing a new Web Site at www.driverswellness.com to reach truckers from all aspects of wellness – physical, emotional, social, and spiritual. We are going to start looking for these chapels when we take a road trip and try to meet some of their chaplains on the road. 

Christian Veterinary Mission is an organization that sponsors the Christian Veterinary Fellowship for veterinary students around the world at veterinary school campuses. The home organization, CVM, is a professional organization for veterinarians that focuses on outreach and mission projects around the world. Christian Writers' Group International (CWGI) is a non-profit group for any born again writer. Founded in 1997, the group is focused on improving the skills of writers and connecting writers through an email discussion list. Since the group hosts its email discussion on Yahoo, it's available through the simple Yahoo sign-up. Faith Writers is another interesting online site with an ezine, Faith Writers Magazine which showcases the writing of members.

All of you guys in business know that you can have the best product in the world, but if you can’t get it to market it’s worse than useless. In fact, if we can’t build distribution channels for products and services we’re pretty much O.O.B. (out of business). So it is with the work God calls all Christians to do: Trust the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation. Go fish for men. Share the gospel. Feed the hungry; clothe the naked; give drink to the thirsty; be merciful; act in humility. There they are. The services of God distributed through the living channel of regular people like us. Sometimes, though, the most elaborate distribution channels just don’t work. In Myanmar (Burma), the bigger the infrastructure the more impossible it is to use! Politics and geography make it so obvious that we are not in control. All the organizations of might – armies, navies, big benevolence organizations – all are struggling to fulfill a humanitarian mission in Myanmar. What’s needed is a huge network of money moving toward the disaster, safely delivered directly to people who know the needs of their village, managed by trustworthy people. The Christian’s Medical and Dental Association has been around since 1931. Made up of the Christian Medical Association and Christian Dental Association, CMDA provides resources, networking opportunities, education, and a public voice for Christian healthcare professionals and students. This is a big organization with a staff of over 75. You can tell from their Master Calendar that you can get involved at whatever level you choose. Their ministry outreach is worldwide and, as you will see, there is room for every medical or dental professional to grow and learn on every level with this group including extensive missions work.
