24/7 Resources 175Here’s the way to get the most out of your worship and devotional time, any day of the week, in your Sunday 24/7 group. This post has all the resources you need to get going. You’ll probably find more as you go along. Let us know how it all works for you!

Sermon Resources
The Moody Church of Chicago – Here you will find timely and interesting sermons by Erwin Lutzer, and sometimes a series of truly great sermons. Lutzer is the author of “One Minute After You Die,” “Where Was God?” and his newest, “Slandering Jesus: Six Lies People Tell About the Man Who Said He Was God.” You can download free iPod and MP3 files (with registration), or just use your laptop to play directly from the site if you have good bandwidth. At this site, you can also find Bible study tools, devotionals (via www.oneplace.com links) and a number of podcasts by other pastors at Moody. One of the most successful urban churches in the world, The Moody Church is known for the quality of its witness in service and worship. If you’re going to be in Chicago, try to hit the Moody Business Network luncheon – it always has great speakers (and food).

Insight for Living – This is the site for Charles (Chuck) Swindoll’s worldwide radio, book, and media ministry. There’s a lot of really fine material here and you might want to look around for awhile. This link takes you to the iPod page which lets you register for the podcasts. You can also get devotionals emailed to you, which makes selection pretty effortless! You can see a list of the available audio broadcasts and hear the current radio broadcast live over your laptop if you have good bandwidth. Swindoll has completed an outstanding series of books and audio on Bible leaders (Daniel, Joshua, Paul, Esther, and others) and his latest volume is Jesus: The Greatest Life of All.

The Urban Alternative – Tony Evan’s exemplary high energy evangelical urban ministry has free MP3 sermons that you can listen to online, but if you want to download there is a charge. This is a good site for laptop users or for those with a little budget for the group. There’s a great weekly devotional on the middle lower half of the home page – just print it and use it!

Great Sermons and Music – We really enjoy listening to the sermons of great pastors with uplifting and challenging messages. And, frankly, sometimes worship without music is a little pale. So we’re suggesting SermonIndex.net a fabulous resource of great sermons of the past and fine hymn music. All use MP3 or iPod (with registration) and all are FREE! You can add a whole “book” of audio sermons to iTunes (free) and hymns that range from contemporary to congregational hymns with the entire congregation singing. Choose what your 24/7 group likes best!

Devotional Resources
Today God Is First — These devotionals have a workplace focus and may be especially appropriate for your group. You can sign up to receive these devotionals via email (at home) and print out the best for your 24/7 meeting. Os Hillman understands the workplace and has ministered there for many years.

Our Daily Bread – Listen to it, download it, print it, but don’t miss it! The mission of RBC Ministries, which produces Our Daily Bread, is to make the life-changing wisdom of the Bible understandable and accessible to all. Founded by R. H. De Haan, a medical doctor who became a pastor late in life, the radio ministry began in 1938. Faithful to its mission, RBC makes devotionals and Bible studies available in almost every medium. You can even download Our Daily Bread to your pda. Also available are the great devotionals from the book of the same name, My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers.

Music
Obviously, you can use a CD or iPod or MP3 download from a label or artist for your music, but if you want some sites for free music resources for your meeting, try these.

14 Instrumental Hymns – A link to get you to the instrumental hymns on SermonIndex.net.

Celtic Worship Music – Nice example of the Celtic sound.

Also on Sermonindex.net.AllWorship.com – A site that broadcasts free Christian music in three formats, Contemporary, Praise & Worship, and Spanish Worship. This broadcast reaches 230 countries, so even if your Sunday 24/7 is far from the United States, you can get this music! A small donation upgrades you to a premium stream (better quality) but the basic stream is fine. You can receive an Inspirational Email which might suit your group as a devotional. Check it out. No free download but this site is broadcasting great music 24/7, so just tune in! Almost forgot – it has good info about music events and artists, too.

OK, so now all you need is YOUR LUNCH, YOUR BUDDIES, AND YOUR TECHNOLOGY, and you are set for Sunday 24/7. Invite anyone you know to worship with your group. May God richly bless your worship, your group’s community, and your service to Him and each other!
