Do You Work on Sunday? If so, then Sunday 24/7 is for YOU!

If you work on Sunday, you may be “out of luck” for a traditional worship service at your church. We thought it would make a lot of sense to have a simple way for a few Christian friends to get together for “church” at their work lunch hour. Sunday 24/7 is your solution!

Sunday 24/7 is built on the premise that Christians in the workplace need to support each other. We need to meet together and encourage each other about our jobs, our relationships, and our experiences.

Just like in a church service, we can have a meaningful worship, devotion, prayer, and praise time together.

Sunday 24/7 Structure

What you need to get started:

Other Christian buddies who work on Sunday but who want a worship time, and who would like to have a chance each week to support other Christians on the job. You can start small – just keep inviting people until you are all happy with the size of the group!

Everyone brings their lunch – no money changes hands.

An iPod, MP3 player, or laptop. We suggest an iPod or MP3 player with an inexpensive portable speaker that’s battery operated. We’re seeing them at the discount stores for about $29.99. Maybe you can share the cost of it if no one has a speaker.

A place to eat lunch – outside at picnic table, in a break room, in someone’s office with approval from management, under a tree, next to the job site outside the hardhat area, in a corner of the cafeteria, in the teacher’s lounge…someplace you can hear each other and the downloads.

Hook yourself up to The Gospel at Work to find all the rest!

Organize Your Sunday 24/7 Meeting

Here’s a way to organize your Sunday 24/7 activity. We hope you’ll use it to make your worship time meaningful! Get the most out of your worship and devotional time, any day of the week, in your Sunday 24/7 group. It’s easy, and quick to pull together.

Organize Your Sunday 24/7 Meeting

1. DOWNLOAD a SERMON from one of the resources listed below. We have reviewed these sites and found the quality of the sermons and of the technology to be top notch. Just download onto the iPod or MP3 player, introduce it, and start it up while everyone is eating! We suggest a 20 minute sermon, maybe a little longer – that should be plenty of time to eat.

2. DOWNLOAD A SHORT DEVOTIONAL from one of the resources below. Again, these are very good, doctrinally sound resources. If you want to discuss the sermon instead, go for it. If you want a more formal devotional, fine. It’s YOUR group! The devotional can last 5-7 minutes.

3. Someone will ask for one sentence prayer requests from the group, which can be sent out after the meeting. The group should PRAY together. Make sure you know how you will respond if a member has a crisis, or a death or hospitalization in the family. After all, if the person was in your Sunday School class you would take over food, watch the children or mow their lawn –whatever was needed. So do it for this group – your Sunday 24/7 brothers and sisters. Love and serve each other, just as Jesus said. Prayer time is probably 15 minutes long.

4. DOWNLOAD the Evangelism Tips for the Workplace from this site and read it to the group. These tips take 2-3 minutes!

So, the order of worship could be:

Listen and eat lunch

Participate in the Devotional or discussion of the sermon

Prayer requests and prayer

Workplace Evangelism Tip of the Week

Assign who does the jobs for next week
